2009,
Turrentine’s artist’s book, “Great Egret” was acquired by four prestigious universities and libraries for their rare book collections. They include:
- The Gunst Collection, Rare Book Division of the Green Library at Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA. This collection has holdings in the history of the book and the book arts, ranging from books printed in the fifteenth century to artists’ books of the twenty-first century.
- The Boston Athenaeum in Boston, MA. It is one of the oldest and most distinguished independent libraries and cultural institutions in the U.S. “Great Egret” is in the rare book collection which includes an extensive collection of the art of the book. This collection serves the community and scholars throughout the world.
- Enders Ornithology Collection of the Watkinson Library at Trinity College in Hartford, CT. This collection includes classic works from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, among them, the engraver Havell’s copy of John James Audubon’s Birds of America..
- Hill Memorial Library at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA. “Great Egret” is in the Rare Book Collection, which contains more than 25,000 books. Particular strengths include the history of the book, fine printing and book design.

Turrentine publishes a limited edition artist’s book, entitled “Great Egret.” This book encapsulates over 20 years’ experience photographing Great Egrets. It includes 15 duotone photographs, many of them award winning.
